From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Oceania (sometimes Oceanica) is a geographical, and often geopolitical, region consisting of numerous lands—mostly islands in the Pacific Ocean and vicinity. The term "Oceania" was coined in 1831 by French explorer Dumont d'Urville. The term is also sometimes used to denote a continent comprising Australia and proximate Pacific islands, and is one of eight terrestrial ecozones. The boundaries of Oceania are defined in a number of ways. Most definitions include parts of Australasia such as Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea, and all or part of the Malay Archipelago. Ethnologically, the islands that are included in Oceania are divided into the subregions of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What type of man is in the oceania region? Q. You know how there is like Homo erectus, Homo Sapien Sapien and well I was reading about Australian Aborigines and they said the earliest man found there was the "Mungo Man." Well how many types of man are there then? And do they all evolve into the modern humans that there are today? In other words, are Australian Aborigines Homo Sapiens? I'm not trying to say they're not human, I am just wondering if there is many different species of humans as well as animals. Asked by Kory - Mon Feb 16 12:20:04 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. All humans are homosapiens, including Aborigines. Aborigines are descended from such bipeds as the "Mungo Man", just as nearly all Europeans, Africans, and Asians are descended from bipeds like "Lucy". There is currently only one type of man, but there have been different species (homo erectus, neanderthal, etc.) from which we have descended. I hope that helps. Q. how old is the legal drinking age on the Oceania cruise ship if traveling to the Caribbean Asked by MELANIE K - Thu Mar 26 16:06:46 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. All cruise ships, the drinking age is 21 except for some that are in Europe. Now once you are in port in the Caribbean, then that's a different story. Oh, don't listen to people who say once your in international waters, etc. Being in international waters has absolutely nothing to do with the drinking age. Cruise ships go by the laws of the United States. Answered by timetravler - Thu Mar 26 16:12:30 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Oceania"
